Tiara The Merch Girl an emerging south asian performer and all around Jack of all trades on the creative production side of Burly Q based in Australia. She has a blog where she works on finding international burlesque performers (outside of the US,UK,AU).

She had this to say about global burlesque:"Then again it may just be that the idea of burlesque still exists worldwide, it's just called something else - for instance, the dangdut music in Indonesia, or most of Bollywood. Not exactly the same, but spiritually similar - telling stories, making fun, expressing things that are probably taboo."
